“Araghchi held fruitful conversations with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, FM Faisal bin Farhan, and Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman about Iran-Saudi bilateral relations and the latest developments in the region,” said Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In this context, the Saudi Prime Minister expressed “the Kingdom’s aspiration that the ceasefire agreement will contribute to creating conditions that promote security and stability in the region,” according to the official Saudi news agency SPA, while emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to “supporting dialogue through diplomatic channels as a path to resolving disputes.”
During the meeting, in which they reviewed bilateral relations and discussed recent regional developments as well as efforts underway to reduce tensions in the area, Araghchi expressed his “gratitude to the Kingdom for its stance condemning Israeli aggression and its recognition of the efforts and initiatives to promote security and stability in the region,” according to SPA, which did not provide further details.
Prior to the meeting, Araghchi also met with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan. They reportedly addressed bilateral relations, although neither side provided additional information.
